Helping Families of the Magic Valley
|
Project Compassion Food Bank has been serving the people of Magic Valley since 1991. Offering food, counseling and a hand up; the volunteer staff at Project Compassion are skilled care providers who work to meet the individual needs of each client and their family members. In addition to food boxes; clothing items, sundries, gas vouchers, agency referral vouchers, and literature are given to each client and family as available. A trained pastoral counselor offers information, prayer and referral to all who request it, with no strings attached. Project Compassion does not discriminate. All are welcome. The application process is simple and as long as there is a need, Project Compassion will endeavor to meet that need, either directly or through referral to another sister agency. |
Our office will re-open for distribution beginning Saturday, July 12, and every Saturday thereafter from 8AM till 11AM. Our staff enjoy spending time with each client and each individual need.
The basic philosophy of Project Compassion is "Help all who ask for help." Behind that philosophy are the words of Jesus found in the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 25. He says in verse 35, "For I was hungry and you gave Me food. I was thirsty and you gave Me drink. I was a stranger and you took Me in." In verse 40 He adds, "Assuredly I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."

You Can Play a Part!
Over 850 food boxes were distributed in a recent year with over 200 children in homes being served. That's 200 children without adequate income for meals. 200 children would have gone hungry in our communities, without the support of people like you; neighbors that care,
neighbors that give. |
 |
 |
We try to provide enough food for two meals per day per famly member. Boxes usually consist of simple yet well rounded meals with meat, vegetables, and carbohydrates such as rice, pasta or potatoes. When available, families receive milk and bread, donated by local businesses.
Your cash donations would purchase cases of tuna, soups, chili and vegetables. We could buy breakfast cereals, pancake and muffin mixes and our freezers could be stocked with meats, easy meals or frozen potatoes. Your donation would help stock our shelves NOW and 100% of that donation goes for clients services. |
Counseling and prayer are offered in addition to referral services.
Sister agencies help by providing clothing to our clients whenever needed.
A Bible is provided to every client upon request.
This Food Bank is managed as a love offering (no paid staff) by people in the community
who have a heart to serve those in need in Magic Valley.
That means 100% of your donation goes for client services
